East School is home to three Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District programs, working closely with the staffs of Overstreet Elementary School, West Elementary School, Armstrong Middle School and Starkville High School to provide student services in the following areas:

The Alternative School in the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District provides an alternative setting for students in grade 5 – 12. The school hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Accelerators are students from Armstrong Middle School in grades six, seven and eight who are trying to accelerate their grade placement by intensive academic instruction/assistance. Students in the Sixth Grade will try to pass the academics necessary to pass Sixth and Seventh Grade and enter the Eight Grade the next school year. Seventh and Eighth Grade students will work to be ready for the Ninth Grade by the end of the first semester and complete Ninth Grade work the second semester. They will enter Starkville High School the next year at the grade level that corresponds to their academic achievements at Overstreet and Summer School. The school hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The GED program is part of the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District’s initiative to reduce dropouts. The GED program option is available to students ages 16 – 19 who meet the eligibility requirements and are enrolled at Starkville High School. The students conduct classes at Overstreet School and are tested at East Mississippi Community College. The school hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
