Family Centered Programs provides free year round adult classes at Emerson Family School and J. L. King Center. These classes provide instruction for enhancing basic academic skills or studying for the high school equivalency test. The program serves adults 18 years and older.
The GED testing service has lowered the score it requires for passing each GED subject area from 150 to 145. As a result, Mississippi has adopted the lower test score effective immediately and will grandfather individuals who have taken the GED test since January 1, 2014 and received a score of 145 or more. Students who received a passing score under the new guidelines can expect to see their updated scores and information on their MyGED account on March 1.
More information regarding this and other changes is available online at GED Testing Service. You may also contact Family Centered Program Adult Basic Education program staff for more information at Emerson Family School, 1504 South Louisville Street, Starkville or call 662-324-4183.
