SHS to play for State Championship Friday

The Starkville Yellow Jackets defeated Madison Central to win the North State title and advance to the MHSAA 6A State Championship game on Friday, December 1, at 7 pm.  The game will be played in Oxford at Vaught Hemingway Stadium on the campus of the University of Mississippi.  Join us before the game at 5 pm for The Walk of Champions to support our players and coaches.

63% Day for SOCSD on Friday

In an effort to allow as many families, friends and fans of the Yellow Jackets to travel to the state championship game, the Starkville Oktibbeha School District will operate a 63% percent day schedule on Friday.

Dismissal Times

Sudduth, HWS, West  – 12:15

Overstreet – 12:20

AMS & SHS – 1:05

Greensboro – 1:30

Emerson Family School’s fee-based preschool program will operate a normal schedule on Friday.  However, Extended Day and Emerson’s after school program will NOT meet.

Faculty and staff may leave their schools after the principal determines campus is clear.

Ticket & Game Day Information

You can purchase tickets to the state championship game in advance at Greensboro Center from 8 am until 4 pm November 28-30.  You can also purchase tickets in advance online at https://gofan.co/app/events/13130. All pre-game tickets are $14.  Tickets may also be purchased at gates #15 and #16 on the east side of the stadium prior to the game for $15.

SHS is the visiting team and will occupy the east side of the stadium.

Win $1,000 for SHS!  Text GRIDIRON11 To 55333.  Limit one vote per phone per day.  The school with the most votes wins!  Winning school will be announced during the 4th quarter of the state championship game.
