The Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District communicates with parents in several ways to be sure they are able to keep track of their students’ classroom activities as well as receive notification of schedule changes or emergency situations.
Power School is a web-based student information system which allows parents to access attendance records, class assignments and grades online. Click the above link to access the Power School portal.
SOCSD has selected SchoolMessenger as our mass messaging system to share reminders of events, deadlines, field trips, etc. Notifications are normally made through email messages, but we also have the capability to send a voice message.
The fastest way for SOCSD to share information regarding school delays and/or cancellations during inclimate weather situations is through our text notification service and social media channels. To receive text messages and/or urgent alerts from SOCSD, text stkokt to 95577.
In 2013, SOCSD also launched a strong social media presence on Facebook and Twitter to serve as additional communication tools and resources for parents, students, media, and the community. Through daily posts, the communications office shares news, announcements and the “spark” happening throughout the district each week.
