AFTER SCHOOL & SUMMER PROGRAMS
Starkville Oktibbeha School District Family Centered Programs offers both free and fee-based after school and summer programs.
EXTENDED DAY (FEE-BASED)

SOCSD offers fee-based after school programs at Sudduth Elementary and Emerson Family School.
Program Goals:
- To provide a planned environment for recreational and enrichment activities
- To provide experiences that encourage healthy growth of the child’s body, intellect, and personality
- To provide a convenience for parents with the satisfaction of knowing their child is in a safe, quality environment during after-school hours
- To provide optimum use of school facilities
Grades Served: Pre-K – 5th
Schedule: August 2019 – May 2020; 5 days a week
Hours: From school dismissal until 5:30 PM
(NOTE: The program is closed onParent-Teacher Conference days.)
Activities: Homework assistance, board games, outside play activities
Enrollment Information: Call 662-615-0042 or 662-615-0033 to begin the enrollment process. Enrollment begins the week after Spring Break week.

Fees: $130 per month, plus a non-refundable registration fee ($100 per child or $150 per family)
2020 EXTENDED PLUS (FEE-BASED)
SOCSD offers fee-based summer program at Sudduth Elementary.
Program Goals:

- To provide experiences that encourage healthy growth of the child’s body, intellect, and personality
- To provide a convenience for parents with the satisfaction of knowing their child is in a safe, quality environment during after-school hours
- To provide optimum use of school facilities
Grades Served: Students who have completed grades K – 5
Schedule: June - July, 2020 from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM (exact dates TBA)
Cafeteria: Breakfast and lunch are provided most days through the Summer Feeding Program
Activities: P.E. activities, centers, board games, recreational field trips (skating, movie matinees, Party Day)
Enrollment Information: Beginning April 13, 2020, call 662-615-0042 to check availability and be placed on the waiting list.
Fees: The cost for the entire summer is $1,050 per child, plus a non-refundable registration fee ($100, one child or $150, family rate.)
21st CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS (FREE)
The 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) after school program is available at Emerson Family School, Sudduth Elementary, Henderson Ward Stewart Elementary, Overstreet Elementary, Armstrong Middle School, and Starkville High School.
Program Goals:
- Homework and tutorial support
- Additional academic instruction
- One-on-one supports
- Academic enrichment with a focus on STEM and art, integrating art and science into core courses of English language arts and mathematics
- Social and behavioral development support, and bullying prevention
- Career planning in high school program
Eligibility: Teacher referral for academic support
Grades: Pre-K – 2
Locations: Emerson Family School, Sudduth Elementary, Henderson Ward Stewart Elementary, Overstreet Elementary, Armstrong Middle School, and Starkville High School
Hours: From school dismissal until site-based dismissals
Schedule: Fall services are tentatively to begin late August 2019
Emerson Preschool – 5 days a week;
Sudduth Elementary - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday;
Henderson Ward Stewart - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Overstreet, AMS and SHS - Monday through Thursday
Activities: Homework assistance, academic tutoring, academic and personal enrichment activities with an emphasis of incorporating art and reading into STEM
Enrollment information: Parents will be contacted once the Program Manager receives referral from school staff.
