TRANSPORTATION

[Updated: July 19, 2023]

Starkville Oktibbeha School District continually strives to manage student bus transportation effectively and efficiently, and our transportation staff takes pride in being an integral part of your child's daily school experience. For the 2023-2024 school year, the district has worked with a mapping service experienced in school transportation to re-map our bus routes in an effort to make them more accurate and efficient and to maximize our fleet staff. Because of our re-mapping process, please be aware that individual bus routes and bus numbers may change from what families have experienced in past years. Please be patient with us as we finetune our new routes and driver assignments.

As we adjust to new transportation routes for the start of a new school year, parents should be prepared for the general pick-up/drop-off times listed below. Over the next few weeks as routes are solidified, our fleet will be able to settle on more specific times for individual routes.

GENERAL ROUTE TIMES
ELEMENTARY: 6:00am pick-up & drop-off by 4:15pm
SECONDARY: 7:00am pick-up & drop-off by 5:15pm
*times are approximate

TRANSPORTATION MOBILE APP

SOSD’s Office of Transportation utilizes a mobile app called Traversa Ride 360 to improve bus transportation communication and assist parents with bus information. Parents may search "Traversa Ride 360" on your mobile device's app platform and download to view your child's bus location and to receive push notifications about your child's bus ride.

**We are currently in the process of uploading all bus routes, student riders and GPS information into the Traversa app for the 2023-2024 school year. Until our syncing of information is complete, information about your child's bus ride may be inaccurate.

Parents will need your child's MSIS number to connect him/her to your account in the Traversa app. If you do not know your child's MSIS number, please contact his/her school.

Parents may now receive push notifications from our transportation team about bus information.  Parents must download the Traversa app to a phone or tablet to receive this service. SOSD Transportation and the Traversa app use student and address data provided during registration to operate bus routes.

Download the Traversa mobile APPLICATION GUIDE here with step by step instructions to register.
