Armstrong Middle School

Armstrong Middle School offers students the opportunity to concentrate their focus. AMS offers pre-Advanced Placement courses in math and English and a wide range of electives including foreign language, band, music, art, and drama. Beginning in the sixth grade, students may also elect to study more arts in specific courses, such as drama, chorus, music, band, and art. Advanced courses are offered for students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual and performing arts. AMS is also expanding its award-winning robotics course to include 120 students. The program earned second place in the state and an invitation to the International Robotics Tournament in Florida in 2013. Sports include football, basketball, soccer, track, baseball, tennis, softball, swimming and golf.

Dear Parents,

Armstrong welcomes you and your family to middle school, and we are already looking forward to August!

As you know, AMS teachers are divided into teams with a teacher for each subject area.  When assigning teachers to a particular team, administrators make determinations based on years of experience and expertise in a particular subject area.  The teams can change from year to year as teachers retire and/or relocate.

As we prepare for the 2017-2018 school year, AMS is still in the process of hiring teachers, developing schedules and creating teams.  While the PowerSchool Parent Portal remains open for online registration, any schedule view is INCOMPLETE and NOT FINAL at this time.  AMS administrators and counselors are working on school and student schedules and changes are occurring frequently.

Parents may pick up their child’s schedule during centralized schedule pick-up on July 20-21 or July 27-28.  Again, any schedule view available online prior to schedule pick-up is INCOMPLETE and NOT FINAL.

Have a wonderful summer!
