ATTENDANCE ZONES
The consolidation plan for the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District was revised in 2016 into two zones, East-Central and West.
The restructured and revised plan, which was approved by a federal judge, includes moving fifth grade to Overstreet and second grade to Ward Stewart. The District’s alternative education program would move to East Elementary School as part of the transition plan. Sudduth Elementary School would become a kindergarten and first grade school while Henderson Ward Stewart would become at second, third and fourth grade school.
The new plan does not include any recommended changes to the school structure or school attendance zone at West Elementary School.
If you have questions about the school structure or attendance zones, please contact Emily Ward at 662.615.0013.
Procedures regarding reporting of information about students attending school outside their school district of residence
If anyone has information concerning a student who either resides in the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District but actually attends public school in another public school district, or who resides in another public school district and attends school in the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District, without having obtained approval from both the school boards of the sending and receiving school districts, please report that information to the Office of the Superintendent of SOCSD. You should contact Emily Ward in the Superintendent’s Office by telephone (662-615-0013) or in writing (401 Greensboro Street, Starkville, MS 39759) to give your information or complaints about such students.
All information will be held in confidence by Ms. Ward except on a need-to-know basis to investigate the reports and ultimately to address the students concerned.
