2026-2027 ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Board of Trustees approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year at its February board meeting. SOCSD operates a non-traditional calendar that that includes 9-week terms with a 2-week break between each term. This calendar provides teachers and students with meaningful breaks along with two intersession periods for innovative learning opportunities. Whether students need Accelerated Learning designed to help them catch up on key skills or Enrichment Camps aimed at helping students delve into their passion, purpose and potential, the modified calendar is... designed for INNOVATION. driven by STUDENT NEEDS, and scheduled for EXCELLENCE.
2026-2027 Tiered Start of School
For the 2026-2027 Academic Year, SOCSD will operate a tiered start to school to enable teachers to meet new students, receive supplies, introduce expectations and begin building relationships in a more intimate classroom environment with fewer students.
How it works...
Monday, JULY 20 -- Only students with a last name beginning with A-M will report for the first day of school. All Class of 2027 Seniors will report for the first day of school on July 20.
Tuesday, JULY 21 -- Only students with a last name beginning with N-Z will report for the first day of school.
Wednesday, JULY 22 -- All students will report to school to follow our regular schedule.
