MDE & SOCSD Request Information from Families about Access to Technology

The Mississippi Department of Education is gathering information about access to technology to determine resources needed for Mississippi school districts to further support elearning/distance for our students.

It is very important that we have a high rate of participation from our families in this survey to provide the most accurate data to MDE as they make recommendations to state leaders.  Our responses or lack of response could impact future resources provided to school districts.

Meanwhile, the Starkville Oktibbeha School District is also planning and preparing for summer programs and for school to resume in August while evaluating how we can improve distance learning for all students. As part of those plans, we want to identify students who need technology support at home including access to devices and/or internet services.

The survey should take you less than five minutes to complete.  It can also be easily completed from a smartphone.  You can access the link here:

In addition, school leaders will be at our meal service sites on Wednesday, May 6, and Monday, May 11, to assist families who do not have a device to complete the survey.
