SHS Volleyball Tandem Earns AVCA Accolades

Volley Jackets Watch Lists

A pair of Starkville High School Girls Volleyball players have earned recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Lady Jacket senior Tatum Still was named to the 2025 AVCA All-America Watch List by the organization, while junior Campbell Davis was tabbed to the 2025 AVCA Phenom Watch List.

”I am so proud that both of these young athletes have gained recognition for their efforts on the court,” said SHS head coach Meghan Mullane.

The AVCA seeks to advance the sport of volleyball through leadership and advocacy. In addition to recognition of elite players, the organization also provides professional development for volleyball coaches and promotes volleyball competitions around the world. The AVCA All America Watch List recognizes student athletes in their senior season who are nominated based on outstanding performance on the court and additional award recognitions. The Phenom Watch List recognizes up-and-coming underclassmen for outstanding court performance.

Tatum Still

Still has been a mainstay for the Lady Jackets at the libero spot in the lineup. The honor marks the third time that Still has been named to one of the AVCA’s Watch Lists as she was named twice to the AVCA Phenom Watch list as an underclassman. Still is one of 43 student athletes from the state of Mississippi on the list. She is a multi-sport student athlete, competing for the Lady Jacket softball team in addition to volleyball.

Still ranks among the leaders in the state of Mississippi in total digs with 215 this season. She has also been productive in serving with 41 service aces through 27 matches.

“Tatum (Still) has been a solid defensive specialist for us for years. She is so athletic, has great reads and is aggressive,” added Mullane.

Campbell Davis

Davis has lived up to the phenom status for SHS this season as one of the team leaders in kills during her junior campaign.

“Campbell (Davis) is a rising star in the Mississippi volleyball scene. She keeps getting better with each passing year and pushing the ceiling higher,” added Mullane.

Davis leads the team in total kills this season with 204, averaging over seven kills per match. She turned in a season-best 18 kills against Caledonia on August 12. Davis also ranks among the statistical leaders in the Magnolia State with 63 service aces. Her service ace numbers rank sixth in Mississippi and top-60 in the nation.
