As we bid farewell to the Starkville High School Class of 2025, we are proud to highlight this outstanding group of seniors by the numbers. The 2025 graduating class of SHS is 320 members strong with plans to pursue their dreams at more than 25 different community colleges, four-year universities and branches of the military. Some are leaving high school with certifications and skills that allow them to step directly into waiting jobs. Four graduates utilized a robust selection of dual credit /dual enrollment course offerings during their 11th and 12th grade year to earn dual diplomas from Starkville High School and East Mississippi Community College.

National Honor Recognition

More than 34% of SHS 2025 graduates earned membership in a national academic honors organization including National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and National Beta Club. Twenty-three students earned recognition in the Advanced Placement program for their scores on national AP exams. Forty-three students earned 25 or better on the ACT college entrance exam, and six graduates earned the coveted Seal of Biliteracy for attaining proficiency in two or more languages prior to graduation. The SHS Class of 2025 also includes one National Merit Finalist, an honor awarded to only 15,000 students nationwide each year.

Mississippi Honor Recognition

More than 45% of the SHS 2025 graduating class received a special diploma designation beyond Mississippi's traditional diploma. Diploma designations include Academic Endorsement (37), Distinguished Academic Endorsement (50), and Career and Technical Endorsement (58). Thirty-two graduates earned the Mississippi Tech Master Scholar designation for their performance in technical and vocational studies with an emphasis in STEM fields. Eight students earned the Mississippi Scholar designation for their performance on college preparatory coursework with an emphasis on academic rigor. Both designations require students to participate in a minimum of 80 hours of community service during their high school careers.

Career and Technical Recognition

More than 34% of the Class of 2025 are Career and Technical Education (CTE) completers, which means they have successfully participated in and completed one of Starkville High's fourteen CTE pathways. The two-year pathways provide specific career-based skills training, nationally recognized industry certifications, soft-skills development and real-world project based learning that enable students to enter college or the workforce with a robust resume of experience. More than 29% of the class earned Silver, Gold or Platinum on ACT WorkKeys, the national workplace readiness assessment required by many potential employers.
