SAAC and CDAF Now Accepting Entries for 2020 Student Art Contest

The Starkville Area Arts Council (SAAC) and the Cotton District Arts Festival (CDAF) are now accepting entries for the 2020 Cotton District Arts Festival student art contest.   

SAAC’s CDAF will host competitions for 4th - 5th grades, 6th, 7th, & 8th grades, 9th - 10th grades, and 11th - 12th grades.  . 

Competition includes two art categories for painting, drawing, mixed media and photography.   

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each grade category and for both art forms.  Honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the judge(s).  One ‘Best in Show’ prize will be awarded.

The submission process is entirely electronic through the Submitable.com portal on SAAC’s website (https://starkvillearts.submittable.com/submit; click on #CDAF2020 Student Art Competition).  The portal is now open for submissions.  Teachers, parents/guardians, and students who are 18+ years old may submit artwork through this portal.  Only one piece of art per art form per student will be considered.  The deadline for submissions is Monday, February 10, 2020.

Winning art work will be on public display for 7 weeks (March 2 – April 20) in the lobby of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership office (200 E. Main St., Starkville).  Awards will be handed out at a reception on Tuesday, March 3 (5:00pm-6:00pm).
