SOSD Return to School on January 12 with 2-Hour Delay

Dear Jacket family,

I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful, magical snow day! I enjoyed seeing all of your snowmen in the SOSD Snowman Challenge!

With overnight temperatures expected to drop into the 20s, the Starkville Oktibbeha School District will return to school on Tuesday, January 12 with a 2-hour delay.

School Start Times

Sudduth, HWS, & West Elem Schools: 9:40 AM

Overstreet Elem: 9:45 AM

Partnership Middle School: 10:30 AM

Armstrong Jr High: 10:45 AM

Starkville High School: 11 AM

Emerson Family School: 9 AM

The Learning Center:  10:15 AM

Campus opens and carpool begins 30 minutes prior to school start time. Grab-n-go breakfast options will be available at our elementary schools. Lunch will be served as scheduled at all schools.

School will dismiss as regularly scheduled.

Teachers and school district staff may report to work on a two-hour delay unless you receive other instructions from your supervisor.

The safety of our students, faculty and staff is of utmost importance when making decisions about winter weather and its impact on the school schedule. Tomorrow's below freezing temps could impact morning travel, including slippery sidewalks and bus stops, which is the reason for the 2-hour delay.

Please use caution as you travel.

Stay safe!

Eddie Peasant, Supt.
