AJHS 8th Grader Selected as Top 300 Broadcom Master

Armstrong Jr High School 8th grader Anya Rai has been selected as a Top 300 Broadcom Master.  The Broadcom Masters competition is the nation's premier science, technology, engineering and math competition for middle school students.  Anya was selected to compete in the Broadcom Masters after winning the Mississippi Region V Science Fair with her project Analysis of Synthetic and Degradation Pathways of Polyhydroxy Butrate in Cupravidus Necator to Produce Biodegradable Plastics.  Anya was selected out of more than 1,800 middle school students.  She has advanced to the final round where judges will select the Top 30 projects and award over $100,000.  

Anya was recognized for her excellent achievement by the Starkville Oktibbeha School District Board of Trustees during its regular monthly board meeting.
