Starkville High School and Millsaps Career and Technology Center are recognized at both state and national levels for innovative curriculum and advanced instruction. Utilizing a 4X4 block schedule, SHS’s more than 1,400 students are offered in-depth instruction in a wide range of offerings, including more than 140 course selections and 10 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. SHS offers students four units of foreign language instruction in Spanish and French. Students can also choose from a wide range of mathematics courses, Biology, AP Chemistry and AP Physics to challenge even the most advanced student. English and social studies instruction encompasses a wide range of course offerings and provides students a well- rounded humanities curriculum. Electives include world geography, creative writing, Mississippi writers, American novel and journalism as well as AP U.S. History, AP European History and AP Literature.



Starkville High School held the first Examples of Excellence recognition program for the 2017-2018 school year on Tuesday, September 26th.  Each of our student who were honored received an SHS Examples of Excellence Keepsake book. Tireless Teacher – September 2017 – Vijay Pacharne

Vijay Pacharne’s Algebra III class celebrates his selection as the 1st Tireless Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. 

SHS Administration selected Mr. Vijay Pacharne as the 1st Tireless Teacher of the new year in the Jacket Nation. Mr. Pacharne was selected for his unwavering devotion to students in the Jacket Nation, the extra time he devotes to his classroom, and always being a source of positivity to his colleagues. 




Congratulations to Haley Fye (Sophomore) and Jerry Drake (Junior) who were selected to serve in the Mississippi Page Program for Representative Rob Roberson.
