Working TOGETHER to Build Opportunity for Every Student through the Academic Houses at Starkville High School

The Academic Houses at Starkville High School is joining with educators, employers and community leaders to create a new kind of high school experience connecting classroom to career and preparing students for excellence in an ever-changing world. The cornerstone of the Academic Houses is our Partners in Excellence initiative, which identifies and engages local businesses and organizations as sustainable partners in creating real-world learning experiences in the classroom and beyond – building opportunity for every student to discover his or her passion, purpose and potential.

WHO CAN GET INVOLVED?

As we work together to grow our thriving community, there's a place for everyone and a unique Partners in Excellence story for every organization. From sharing about your business and facilitating hands-on, industry-specific learning activities to hosting field trips, job shadowing and student internships at your work site, the Academic Houses at SHS offers a wide array of Partner opportunities that can fit your business goals and industry experience. We're looking for Partners to share their expertise, their facilities and their staff to help us prepare our students for a thriving future. Through these partnerships, SOSD students will leave high school with more than a diploma. They will gain real-world experiences guided by Partners who have first-hand knowledge working in their chosen industries.
