JACKET THRIVE ENRICHMENT CAMPS

The Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District is excited to offer an excellent selection of enrichment learning opportunities during our 2026 Jacket Thrive Spring Intersession scheduled for March 16 - 20. Please browse the offerings below for grade level, dates, description, location and length of each camp.

Registration for 2026 Jacket Thrive Spring Enrichment Camps will open on Tuesday, February 10 at 10 AM.

To register, visit this page and click the registration link below your chosen camp. Online registration will open on Tuesday, February 10 at 10 am. Enrollment is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.

Fees: Camp fees are indicated with each camp listed below. Fee waivers are available based on student school lunch applications. Please note that if you register for camp successfully, you will receive a copy of your registration form via email directly following your form submission. Your camp registration is secure until February 20. Fees must be paid no later than February 20. If you have not paid for camp by February, your spot will be released and filled from the waitlist. This Spring, SOCSD is revamping our payment method for Enrichment Camp fees. Please look for more details after registration opens.

Parent drop-off and parent pick-up is requested for enrichment learning opportunities.

Vet Camp (Grades K-2nd) 

ABOUT: Do you have an aspiring Veterinarian? In this camp, we will learn about many animals and the care that a veterinarian provides for those animals. We will study anatomy, physiology, learn about animal dietary needs, and see a few animal friends up close.

STEM Mania (Grades K-2nd)

ABOUT: In partnership with Innocrate and Mississippi State University Advanced Composites Institute, students will learn about advanced materials, fibers, and composites through fun STEM activities like making kinetic sand and experiencing balloon polymer magic. Students will practice measurements, learn through inquiry, and increase their scientific vocabulary through hands-on activities. This camp includes a field trip to MSU's Imaginarium: Creativity & STEAM Discovery Center.

Spark Camp: Visual Arts (Grades K-5th)

ABOUT: Join us for a week of color, creativity, and fun! This half-day visual art camp invites students in grades K-5 to experiment with a variety of art materials and techniques while creating original artwork to take home. We will include guest artist speakers from the community and end the week with an Art Exhibit. Perfect for curious minds and budding artists!

ABOUT: In this camp, students will complete hands-on activities and practice real-time engineering design principles as they learn about the structure of bridges and engage in tasks and challenges that test the strength of their designs.

Exploring GrOW: Simple Recipes for Junior Chefs (Grades 3rd-5th) 

ABOUT: The GrOW classroom at Partnership Middle School provides an environment where students have opportunities to participate in hands-on experiences, including planting, harvesting, cooking, and tasting. This unit will have our campers feeling like junior chefs as they take on simple recipes that will enhance culinary skills, independence, and teamwork.

STEM Frenzy (Grades 3rd-5th) 

ABOUT: In partnership with Innocrate and Mississippi State University Advanced Composites Institute, students will learn about advanced materials, fibers, and composites through fun STEM activities like making silly putty and conducting a parachute egg drop. Students will practice measurements, learn through inquiry, and increase their scientific vocabulary through hands-on activities. This camp includes a field trip to MSU's Imaginarium: Creativity & STEAM Discovery Center.

Jackets on the Move (Grades 5th-8th) 

ABOUT: Come join the fun as we explore all types of sports. We will work on fundamentals and master skills all week long. Programming features an ever changing combination of classic PE games, backyard favorites, sports, and more!

Outdoor Adventure Camp (Grades 6th-7th) 

ABOUT: This camp is exclusive to Partnership Middle School students and includes daily field trips that will encourage a love of the outdoors while learning new skills. Students will travel to Old Mountain Outdoor Adventure to experience rope bridges and zip-lining. They will practice rock climbing and teamwork strategies at MSU Sanderson Center. A trip to Lake Lowndes State Park will let them experience paddle boarding, kayaking, and tent building, and a visit to W. M. Browning Fossil Park will expose them to nature as they search for shark teeth. This camp has limited enrollment. Reserve your spot today!
