Child Abuse Prevention Month: Stand Up for Children

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION

An initiative of the SOSD Discovery Center's Families Strengthening Families program, the Starkville Oktibbeha School District seeks to raise awareness, provide tools and promote action that will prevent the abuse or exploitation of children in our greater community.

Each year, April is designated as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Families Strengthening Families provides special programming to encourage our community to #StandUpforChildren: See Something. Say Something. This theme reflects a simple truth about the realities of child abuse... If a child is being abused, change will only happen through the intervention of an adult.

The Families Strengthening Families Child Abuse Prevention Month initiative is funded by MDCPS Children's Trust Fund.
