MULTI-TIERED SYSTEM OF SUPPORTS

Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District utilizes a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) as a framework for providing instruction to students and responding to individual needs for additional learning or behavioral support. The goal of MTSS is to identify students who need support as early as possible. Implementation of MTSS encourages team-based problem solving that is data-informed, evidence-based and flexible enough to meet the academic and behavioral needs of all students. MTSS includes three levels of instructions called "tiers", and each tier includes best practices for meeting individual student learning goals.
