MESSAGE FROM OUR STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES DIRECTOR
At Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. The Office of Student Support Services is dedicated to supporting this belief by ensuring that all students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in a caring and inclusive environment.
Our vision is to see every student graduate as a confident, critical thinker prepared for life beyond school. To make this vision a reality, our mission is to provide high-quality instruction and personalized support that helps every student reach their fullest potential.
Through the Office of Student Support Services, we identify, evaluate, and serve students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, helping them thrive both academically and personally. Each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is designed to meet their unique needs and provide meaningful learning opportunities.
We offer a range of specialized programs and services, including Child Find, Pre-K initiatives, Gifted Education, Homebound Services, Special Education, Transition Planning, Speech Therapy, and other Related Services. Our goals focus on helping every student make steady progress toward graduation, strengthening early learning experiences, and using data to continuously improve teaching and learning.
At SOCSD, we are proud of the strong partnerships between special education and general education teachers, families, and the community. Together, we are committed to creating a supportive learning environment where every child can shine and succeed.
