Starkville High School Head Baseball Coach, Mark Monaghan, has scheduled 9th-12th grade baseball tryouts for his inaugural year coaching the Yellow Jackets. Please make note of the tryout schedule and guidelines below. Go Jackets!
TUESDAY, AUGUST 1 (9th-12th grade)
All Pitchers and Catchers only
4:15pm
Yellow Jacket Field
- Pitchers will throw a short bullpen
- Catchers will catch bullpens, showcasing receiving and blocking
THURSDAY, AUGUST 3 (9th-12th grade)
All Position Players only
4:15pm
Yellow Jacket Field
- Players will participate in a defensive and hitting evaluation
FRIDAY, AUGUST 4 (9th-12th grade)
Invitation Only
*SHS Coaching staff will make a cut after Thursday's tryouts and a select number will be invited back for Friday's tryouts

- Invited players only will compete in a simulated game
NOTE: 7th and 8th grade baseball tryout dates will be announced at a later date.
TRYOUT GUIDELINES:
- All participants MUST bring a current physical to tryout
- All participants MUST be enrolled in Starkville Oktibbeha School District
- All participants MUST bring their own equipment for tryouts
- All participants MUST bring thier own water/sports drink
