ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) is a free after school program available at Overstreet Elementary, Partnership Middle School, Armstrong Junior High School, and Starkville High School. The AMS STEAM Ahead CCLC program serves students in grades 6-8 at Partnership Middle School and Armstrong Junior High. LinkZone serves students in grades 5 and 9-12 at Overstreet Elementary, Armstrong Junior High, and Starkville High School. Both of these CCLC programs focus on enriching student knowledge and understanding of STEM and art.
- Homework and tutorial support
- Additional academic instruction
- One-on-one support
- Academic enrichment with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and art, integrating art and science into core courses of English/language arts and mathematics
- Social and behavioral development support and bullying prevention
- Career planning in high school program
Students in grades 5-12 who are enrolled in Overstreet Elementary School, Partnership Middle School, Armstrong Junior High School or Starkville High School may attend 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
Students attend CCLC at their school for about two hours after the regular school day is dismissed. CCLC dismissal time is determined on a school by school basis.
Fall services are tentatively scheduled to begin August 9, 2021. The program operates Monday-Thursday each week. Some sites may offer occasional Fridays and special events on Saturdays this fall.
STEM focused projects and experiments, homework assistance, and academic tutoring
HOW TO ENROLL:
Parents and students can obtain an enrollment form from their respective schools. Once the enrollment form is returned to the Program Manager, parents will be notified with a start date.
